UKTV takes to Heart Guy

Nine Network’s The Heart Guy centres on an Aussie surgeon

UKTV has bolstered its slate of international dramas with an Australian medical series from FremantleMedia International.

The Heart Guy (10×60′), which revolves around a Sydney surgeon whose misdemeanours see him return to the family home, will begin airing on UKTV channel Drama on April 5.

The series, known down under as Doctor Doctor, is produced by Easy Tiger, in which FremantleMedia owns a majority stake, for Nine Network in Australia and was recently renewed for a third season.

It stars Rodger Corser (Glitch, Doctor Blake Mysteries), Nicole da Silva (Wentworth Prison, Rush) and Ryan Johnson (Home & Away). It is produced with the support of Screen Australia and Screen NSW.

The show joins other exclusive series on the network such as historical drama The White Princess and medical drama Mercy Street.
