UKTV acquires five Disney series

Ioan Gruffudd plays a forensic pathologist in crime drama Harrow

Channels operator UKTV has signed a multi-series deal with Disney that will see five dramas air exclusively on its W and Alibi networks later this year.

Crime drama Harrow (10×60’) is coming to UKTV for the first time and will air on Alibi.

The series is produced by ABC Studios International and Hoodlum Entertainment for Australian pubcaster ABC and stars Ioan Gruffudd as a forensic pathologist with a disregard for authority.

W, meanwhile, is getting the first three seasons of US comedy American Housewives, produced by ABC Studios. The show follows the life of a housewife trying to stand out among wealthy and pretentious rivals in her new home town.

Also included in the deal is eight-part US drama The Assets, from Lincoln Square Productions for ABC, starring Jodie Whittaker as a CIA officer.

The third season of Quantico and seasons three and four of Code Black will return to Alibi and W respectively as part of the deal.
