UK to remake Argentine drama

Perfidia

The original Perfidia has also aired in Spain and Portugal

Argentine drama Perfidia is set for a UK remake after Swedish distributor Eccho Rights signed a deal with prodco DLT Entertainment.

Margaret Enefer and Donald Taffner Jr will develop the project, while British writer Alan Whiting (Wire in the Blood, Half Broken Things, The Scarlet Pimpernel) will adapt the three-part drama for UK audiences.

“This latest development deal is part of DLT Entertainment’s ongoing strategy to bring fresh new formats and ideas to the UK market as we look to develop and invest in our growing drama slate spearheaded by Margaret Enefer,” said DLT president Don Taffner Jr.

This is the second remake deal Eccho Rights has signed with DLT. Last year DLT optioned Scandinavian hospital drama Nurses (Yellow Film) from the Stockholm-based distributor.

wolf_creekPerfidia follows a group of school friends who embark on a business deal that promises huge gains, but the stakes are high, and their friendship is tested to its limit as jealousy, greed and betrayal puts their futures at risk.

Originally produced by Cisne Films for Canal 7 in Argentina, Perfidia has also aired on Sundance Channel in Spain and Portugal.
