UK talent preps Instagram drama

A UK director has created a crime drama specifically for social media platform Instragram and will debut the shortform series next month.

Anthony Wilcox’s Shield 5

Shield 5 (28×15’) was created and directed by Anthony Wilcox (Hello Carter) alongside Adam Dewar and will debut on the photo- and video-blogging app on February 1 at 17.00 GMT. It is produced by Hullabaloo Films and Lorton Entertainment.

Set in London, each 15-second episode follows a security driver on the run after he is arrested for his involvement in a diamond heist and the subsequent death of a colleague.

Instagram has 400 million worldwide monthly active users and has also been used by producers in the US, such as Pilgrim Studios, to launch new series.
