UK, Germany do double at Int’l Kids Emmys

MIPTV: Productions from the UK and Germany dominated the International Emmy Kids Awards in Cannes last night.

The winners from the UK were Revolting Rhymes, which won best animation, and Hank Zipzer’s Christmas Catastrophe, named best TV movie/miniseries.

The former was produced by Magic Light Pictures, while the latter was made by Kindle Entertainment, DHX Media, Walker Productions and Screen Yorkshire.

The winners from Germany were Club der Roten Baender (Red Bracelets), from Bantry Bay Productions and Vox Television, which won best series, and Berlin und wir (Berlin & Us), from Imago TV and ZDF, which won best factual.

Also at the event, which was held outside of the US in Cannes for the third year running, Canadian show Snapshots, produced by Forte Entertainment, won best non-scripted entertainment.

Norwegian property Jenter (Young Girls), from pubcaster NRK, won in the best digital category, while French show La Cabane à Histoires (The Treehouse Stories), produced by Dandelooo and Caribara Production, won best preschool show.
