Tyrant rules over FX again

US cablenet FX has ordered a third season of its political drama Tyrant for a 2016 broadcast.

Tyrant, created by Gideon Raff, follows a dictator’s son who returns to his war-torn nation after a self-imposed exile in the US only to find himself at the centre of a political maelstrom.

FX has ordered 10 more episodes of the series, which is produced by Fox 21 and FX Productions.

Homeland showrunner Howard Gordon serves as executive producer on the show, along with Teakwood Lane Productions, the prodco he set up at 20th Century Fox Television.
