TWC adds to here! VoD options

US cableco Time Warner Cable is expanding the ways its digital customers can order here!, the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender television network.

In addition to providing the network as a video-on-demand service, from January 6, 2006, Time Warner Cable will have the option of carrying here! as a subscription VoD service.

Maria Dwyer, VP of affiliate sales and marketing at here! Networks, said: “This additional SVoD offering gives both here! and Time Warner Cable even more opportunities with those viewers seeking value and flexibility from on-demand programming. We are excited to be able to offer here!’s audience convenient and frequent access to the best in gay and lesbian programming at an affordable price.”

With the new offering, Time Warner digital cable customers will have greater access to all here! monthly programmes, including movies, original series, comedies, specials and documentaries. Time Warner will continue to offer here! as a VoD service for a per-programme fee of $3.95.

Currently passing some 42 million homes, here! is in production on made-for-network movies, original series and specials including: John Waters Presents Movies That Will Corrupt You, a film series hosted by the legendary director from his hometown of Baltimore, MD; In Her Line of Fire, an original film starring Mariel Hemingway as a lesbian action hero; Dante’s Cove, an original gothic horror series; and Deadly Skies, an original film starring Antonio Sabato Jr as a nuclear scientist trying to save the world from an asteroid.
