TVN picks up Brazilian minis

Polish commercial channel TVN is bolstering its drama offering by taking two miniseries from Brazilian broadcast giant Globo.

Xingu and Bald Mountain will be available on satellite, cable, digital and analogue television to Polish viewers and will air soon.

Xingu is the true story of the Villas Bôas brothers, Claudio, Orlando and Leonardo, who fought for the rights of Brazilian Indians and their culture.

Produced by City of God director Fernando Meirelles, the drama proved popular in Brazil, reaching average ratings of 16 points and a share of 41%, according to Globo.

Meanwhile, Bald Mountain follows two gold diggers and their rise to power in an open-cast mine in the Amazon region during the 1980s.
