A broadcaster in Spain has picked up the rights to Israeli gameshow format Babushka from Armoza Formats.
TVG will air the primetime studio-based format, which features contestants opening giant versions of Russian babushka dolls as they attempt to win cash.
If the babushka is empty, the competitor loses any money accumulated to that point, whereas if there is a smaller doll inside they continue to win, with a top prize of US$500,000.
The first season, locally produced by Productora Faro, will comprise 65 episodes and will begin airing daily this month. Elsewhere, French production company CBecauseTV has acquired the local rights to the show.
