TVF makes summer slate sales

Diving With Sharks

SBS in Australia and Zee Entertainment in India are among the broadcasters to have secured pre-Mipcom deals with UK factual distributor TVF International.

The Healthy Food Guide (10×23’), produced for Choice TV in New Zealand, has found homes in India with Zee Entertainment and Australia on SBS Food Network.

The Aussie pubcaster has also secured rights to BBC doc George III: Genius of the Mad King (1×60’) for its main channel.

Demand for royal-themed programming remains strong in English-speaking territories, with Channel 4’s At Her Majesty’s Service (4×60’) being bought by Zoomer in Canada, Acorn TV and American Public Television in the US, and by Discovery Living Channel in New Zealand alongside UKTV’s John Torode’s Asia (10×23’).

Australian pay TV outfit Foxtel is the first broadcaster to buy Burma’s Lost Royals (1×60’). Produced by Grammar Productions, it is the first film to receive funding from the Whicker’s World Foundation.

Foxtel has also picked up Diana: 20 Years On (1×60’). ABS CBN in the Philippines has bought the rights to the anniversary piece as part of a package including The Checklist Effect (1×60’), an award-winning film looking at the impact of WHO’s Checklist on surgical safety.

Elsewhere, natural history documentary Diving With Sharks (1×60’) has been sold to AMC Networks in Iberia and FTV Prima in the Czech Republic.
