TVF Int’l looks at ABC’s You See Monsters

ABC Arts’ documentary You See Monsters

UK distributor TVF International has acquired the rights to Australian network ABC Arts’ documentary You See Monsters for its Mipcom slate.

Produced by Melbourne-based Chemical Media, the 59-minute doc is an in-depth exploration into contemporary Australian Muslim artists who fight racism and Islamophobia through their work.

The show was commissioned for ABC by Mandy Chang as part of the Australian pubcaster’s Artsville series.

TVF will also be taking Hopscotch Films’ BBC4 documentary Accidental Anarchist (1×60’/1×90’), which follows ex-civil servant turned anarchist Carne Ross as he explores the philosophy of anarchy.

Conflict (1×52’), which profiles the world’s best conflict photographers, has also been added to the slate. Redfitz Films produced the show for Ovation Network in the US, while a series of 6×6’ shorts will air on SVoD service Netflix.

TVF will also present Power & Piety (5×46’), produced by Mediacorp for Channel NewsAsia, which looks at the devastating links between religion and conflict, and The Hotel for Refugees (1×46’), a Films of Record production for BBC and RTÉ.

Other titles on TVF’s Mipcom slate include David Attenborough’s Jumbo: The Life of an Elephant Superstar, a Humble Bee Films and Infield Fly Productions doc for the BBC and Canada’s CBC; cookery show John Torode’s Asia (10×23’), from Blink Films for UKTV; and art doc Hokusai: Old Man Crazy to Paint (1×59’), the British Museum’s first in-house production for the BBC and NHK in Japan.
