TV2 prescribes Doctors vs Internet

Doctors vs Internet made its debut in Norway on NRK1

Danish broadcaster TV2 has picked up the format rights to NRK gameshow Doctors vs Internet from UK-based distributor and formats specialist Magnify Media.

Banijay-owned Mastiff TV will produce a 10×30’ series to air on the Danish channel in 2018.

Doctors vs Internet won the best gameshow category at the 2017 MipTV International Format Awards in April and is based on society’s obsession with self-diagnosis via the internet.

The TV2 deal brings the total number of territories to have acquired or optioned Doctors vs Internet to 12.

The show is in its third season on Norway’s NRK, where it continues to pull in record ratings and a market share peaking at 49.8%.

The first international version, produced by Sputnik Media, aired on Dutch public broadcaster NPOI at the end of last year, and a second run has completed recently.

In addition, the format has been optioned in the US (Critical Content); the UK (Finestripe Entertainment); Germany (Bavaria Entertainment); France (Newen’s Production Valley); Australia (Lune Media); English-speaking Canada (Force Four with Bristow Global Media); French-speaking Canada (Trio Orange); Sweden (Nordisk Film & TV); Finland (Aito Media); and Belgium (Sputnik Media).
