Turner, Warner Bros launch SVoD service

International broadcast group Turner and Warner Bros Digital Networks (WBDN) have launched a multi-territory movie streaming service.

FilmStruck will leverage the libraries of both companies, primarily drawing on Warner Bros’ titles and the films from distributor Criterion Collection, as well as other global and local content partners.

The service will offer film fans a broad collection of movies across categories including mainstream, cult, independent, classics, art house, foreign and documentary.

It will also feature curated themes, exclusive bonus material with cast interviews, Criterion original mini-documentaries and hosted introductions and original artwork. It will be rolled out first in the UK with other markets to follow in the next two years.

The UK service will launch in association with boutique cinema brand Curzon as Filmstruck Curzon and will feature a branded Curzon area with access to titles from the Curzon Artificial Eye film library.

Turner International now offers three international SVoD brands, with EI Plus in Brazil and the recently launched Nordics offering Toonix respectively providing sports and kids/family OTT products.

FilmStruck Curzon is expected to roll out in the UK in the coming weeks and will be available on demand on most phones and tablets, online and on TV via streaming devices, with more devices to be added.
