Turner ups Flamman to UK head

Turner Broadcasting has promoted Pete Flamman to run Turner’s UK entertainment business, replacing Dee Forbes, who left to head Discovery UK last September.

Flamman is currently senior VP of entertainment for Northern Europe, overseeing the German, Central and Eastern European, and Nordic regions.

His additional UK remit will see him managing kids’ channels Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito and CN Too, as well as film channel TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and comedy animation brand Adult Swim. He reports to Turner Broadcasting Europe president Jeff Kupsky.

“Pete has a proven track record of launching and growing successful businesses throughout Europe, which we have seen him achieve in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe,” said Kupsky. “He is also recognised for his exceptional leadership skills, and in particular for developing his people and building great teams.”

The news comes after Turner earlier this week poached BBC Children’s veteran Michael Carrington to be its chief content officer, replacing Finn Arnesen, who left last October.
