Boomerang began broadcasting in Malaysia on August 1 and is available to view for free on Telekom Malaysia’s IPTV platform HyppTV for the next two months.

The network was recently relaunched around the world as an all-animation, youth-skewing companion channel to Cartoon Network.

Its line-up features new episodes of classic series such as Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes, alongside contemporary acquisitions like Garfield, Pink Panther, My Little Pony, Inspector Gadget and DreamWorks’ Turbo FAST.

Warner Bros Animation (WBA) recently agreed a deal with Turner that will see it supply almost 450 half-hours of original programming, primarily mined from its huge library of classic titles, to Boomerang.

The channel is available in both English and Bahasa Malaysia and is aimed at kids aged 4-9 and their families.

It launches as part of HyppTV’s Jumbo Pack. A complimentary app for mobile devices that hosts both video and gaming content is planned, TBS said.
