Turner picks Nordic programme chief

Turner Broadcasting has appointed a programme director for its channels in the Nordic region, including TNT.

Karin Lindström is based in Stockholm, taking a role that was previously handled from the company’s London base.

Lindström arrived from SBS Discovery where she worked in programme acquisitions and will be responsible for TNT, Showtime, Silver, TNT Film and TCM. She previously spent 12 years as an acquisitions executive at US sportscaster ESPN in London.

The appointment, effective from the start of this month, continues Turner’s quest to strengthen its local presence in the Nordics and follows the appointment of Morten Skov Hansen as locally based programme director for its children’s channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Turner has also moved its creative team for the region to Stockholm and Estonia.
