TruTV hires MTV exec

US cablenet TruTV has named the exec producer of MTV gameshow Silent Library as its new senior VP of alternative original programming.

Adam Dolgins will oversee the channel’s original programming group, which is responsible for comedy shows such as Impractical Jokers and upcoming series Killer Karaoke.

His team will also develop new comedy and reality series, which forms part of the network’s original programming strategy.

Dolgins is based in New York and will report to Darren Campo, senior VP of programming, production and development.

He joins Turner Broadcasting System-owned TruTV from his own production company, Fractured Hip Productions, which was responsible for MTV’s Silent Library and hidden-camera series Boiling Points.

His other credits include VH1’s Rock of Ages, which he created.

“Adam brings extensive creative experience to TruTV as a producer of the kind of comedic reality shows that are increasingly important to TruTV’s amazing ratings momentum,” said Campo.

Tony Horn will continue to serve as senior VP of TruTV’s current programming group, reporting to Campo, handling shows such as Hardcore Pawn.

Fractured Hip Productions will continue to be run by Dolgins’ partner Frank Gregory.
