TruTV gets Shaq on lockdown

US cablenet TruTV has ordered a full season of an entertainment show fronted by basketball star Shaquille O’Neal.

Upload With Shaquille O’Neal (10×30′) sees the sports star present humourous clips sourced from the online world, while also creating his own viral videos and parodying pop culture stories.

“Shaquille has such a great personality, and he really has a lot of fun with the format and the material,” said Marc Juris, executive VP and chief operating officer of TruTV.

The series is produced by Fishbowl Worldwide Media, producer of Tosh.0 and America’s Funniest Home Videos, alongside Shaq Entertainment.

Earlier this year, the Turner Broadcasting System-owned network commissioned several other original shows, including Killer Karaoke, featuring daredevil presenter Steve-O, and Guinness World Records Gone Wild.
