True turns to former charges

New York-based prodco True Entertainment, part of the Endemol Shine Group, has strengthened its development team with a promotion and a new hire.

Bryan Hale is joining the company as senior VP and head of west coast development, while Jo Honig has been promoted to executive VP of development.

Honig rejoined the Real Housewives of Atlanta producer in 2013 as senior VP of development, having had a previous stint as VP of development back in 2007 before working as an independent showrunner for networks including Discovery, History and Lifetime.

She will continue to work from the company’s New York headquarters, overseeing development on the company’s slate of series and specials.

Hale is also returning to True for a second stint, having been VP and head of west coast development with the firm from 2007 to 2009. He left to become VP of original programming and development at Oxygen Media but will now oversee all development taking place in True’s Los Angeles office.

The announcement was made by True Entertainment Founders and CEOs Steven Weinstock and Glenda Hersh.
