Trotsky heads to Denmark

Sreda Production Company’s Trotsky aired on Russia’s Channel 1

Danish public broadcaster DR has picked up an historical drama created to mark the centenary of the Russian revolution.

Trotsky was made for Russia’s Channel 1 by Sreda Production Company and premiered in 2017 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution.

The series has also been sold to Canal 22 in Mexico, which became the first international channel to air Trotsky earlier this year. Distribution of show is handled by Eccho Rights.

The drama had its world premiere at Mipcom last year. It follows prominent Bolshevik Leon Trotsky from his integral role in the October Revolution of 1917 through to his exile in Mexico.
