Treehouse confirms This Is… return

Canadian children’s channel Treehouse has confirmed it is bringing back its educational preschool series This Is… for a third season.

A new 52×7′ run has received the greenlight and production begins this summer with two new but currently as-yet unnamed child hosts.

The first two seasons, This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung, launched in 2004 and 2006, respectively. They have sold to more than 100 broadcasters to date.

The format sees one of the hosts experiencing a new activity before relaying the freshly gained knowledge to another child.

The series had gone into hiatus but last year C21 revealed Corus Entertainment-owned Treehouse, plus Toronto’s Sinking Ship Entertainment and MarbleMedia planned to bring it back.

“This is Daniel Cook was a legacy hit for Treehouse and a huge success charming audiences around the world,” said Corus’ VP of original programming for kids, comedy and drama Jocelyn Hamilton. “We look forward to seeing the next chapter.”

MarbleMedia subsidiary Distribution360 will handle international broadcast, formats and interactive sales.
