Toumazis joins Airey at Yahoo!

Industry veteran Tom Toumazis, former chief commercial officer at Endemol, is joining online giant Yahoo!.

Toumazis will be based in London and becomes head of partnerships for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), reporting to Dawn Airey, senior VP of Yahoo! in EMEA.

He will be tasked with overseeing Yahoo!’s partnership efforts in the region, in collaboration with the company’s global partnerships team. His focus will be business development and he will work closely with the sales, media and ad technology teams.

Toumazis joined Endemol from Disney-ABC-ESPN Television in 2008 and helped set up its international brands and distribution division. He left in May 2011 to head newspaper publishing firm Mecom but stepped down in July 2012 after leading a strategic review of the business.

Earlier this year he joined the board of TV audience measurement firm TVBeat, which provides data to pay TV platforms, broadcasters and media buyers.

Airey, former CEO of UK terrestrial Channel 5, joined Yahoo in August 2013. She previously held senior positions with UK commercial broadcasters ITV, BSkyB and Channel 4 during a 30-year TV career and is now managing Yahoo’s business in EMEA, reporting to chief operating officer Henrique de Castro.
