Toca Boca ‘up for sale’

Swedish app producer Toca Boca has reportedly been put up for sale by its parent company Bonnier Media Group ahead of its mooted move into TV.

Toca Boca, which recently appointed former Sesame Workshop executive J Milligan to oversee its push into TV, has an asking price of between US$59m and US$118m, according to local reports.

The company, founded in 2010, has previously focused on kids’ apps but plans to unveil its first shows from the video division in the second half of this year.

The reports say Bonnier has hired a “small” US investment bank to find a buyer for the company, which is based in Stockholm and New York.
