TLC says Yes to format remake

TLC in the UK has ordered a local version of its US counterpart’s wedding show Say Yes to the Dress, to be produced by Half Yard Productions.

The 40×30′ series will air this summer in the UK and Ireland after being filmed at The Confetti & Lace flagship bridal boutique at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex.

Dress designer David Emanuel will front the show, which goes behind the scenes of one of England’s top bridal boutiques.

The US version, which is also produced by Half Yard Productions, is one of the top-rating shows on TLC in the UK, which launched in 2013.

“This commission not only signifies our ongoing commitment to the wedding genre but also bolsters the TLC schedule with more feel-good, formatted factual entertainment,” said Mark Procter, acting head of factual entertainment at TLC parent company Discovery Networks International.
