TLC revamps East Coast team

US cablenet TLC has reshuffled its production and development team with a series of changes being made to its East Coast division.

Alon Orstein becomes senior VP of production and development at Discovery Communications-owned TLC, with a remit to oversee editorial and execution on series and specials. Orstein previously worked on shows including 90 Day Fiancé, Cake Boss and the Breaking Amish franchise.

Meanwhile, Wendy Douglas has been elevated to VP of production while Marisa Levy is now TLC’s VP of development.

Levy works with domestic and international production companies to bring new formats and original programming to the network. She joined TLC in 2011, working on shows including I Found the Gown and Extreme Cheapskates, and will also act as the primary development liaison between TLC and Discovery Networks International.

Douglas has launched and manages shows including Long Island Medium and 19 Kids & Counting and will now oversee production of series including the specials of parenting show Jon & Kate Plus 8.

All three execs are based in the company’s Silver Spring headquarters and report to Howard Lee, exec VP of TLC’s East coast production and development team.

TLC’s West Coast team was bolstered in April with the addition of executives from Style Network and Los Angeles-based prodco Fly On The Wall Entertainment.
