TLC lines up miraculous series

US cablenet TLC has ordered a Mark Burnett and Roma Downey reality series about people who claim they have experienced divine intervention.

The cabler said the as-yet-untitled show, to be hosted by Downey, would “explore stories of people who claim that they have experienced modern-day miracles, incredible twists of fate and phenomena that logic and science cannot explain.”

TLC is teaming up with Downey’s LightWorkers Media, a division of the newly formed United Artists Media Group (UAMG) that comes from MGM, husband and wife Burnett and Downey, and Hearst Entertainment.

The revived UAMG banner is focusing on developing, producing and financing premium content across all platforms, including scripted and non-scripted TV shows, movies and digital content.

Burnett is CEO of UAMG while Downey is president of LightWorkers Media, the faith and family unit. Burnett was already working with MGM as producer on the TV remake of 1959 Oscar-winning film Ben Hur.

The new series, to debut in late 2015, is being exec produced by Downey, Burnett and Katy Davis.
