TLC extends Honey Boo Boo

Discovery-owned US lifestyle network TLC has extended its child reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

The Authentic Entertainment-produced show focuses on six-year-old Alana, a beauty pageant regular from rural Georgia. It originated as a spin-off from Toddlers & Tiaras, which featured Alana and was broadcast in 2012.

TLC has now ordered a further 12 episodes and three specials, with the show due to start airing on January 1.

Howard Lee, executive VP of production and development for TLC, said: “As Alana gets older, the dynamic between her parents and sisters is changing. Viewers can look forward to seeing a different side of the family as they embark on this exciting new chapter of their lives.”
