Thunderbird goes for Fecan as CEO

Canadian prodco Thunderbird Entertainment has promoted one of its execs to interim CEO, among a number of other new senior appointments.

Ivan Fecan

Ivan Fecan is stepping up to the temporary position while also continuing his current roles as executive chair of the Thunderbird board and producer of the company’s sitcom Kim’s Convenience.

Meanwhile, Jennifer McCarron and Mark Miller have both been promoted to co-president.

McCarron also becomes CEO of Atomic Cartoons, Thunderbird’s animation studio, which she joined in 2011 as head of production. She has led production on numerous Thunderbird titles including Netflix original series Beat Bugs.

Besides his co-president role, Miller, creator of reality show Highway Thru Hell, will reprise his position as CEO of Great Pacific Media, Thunderbird’s factual, documentary, and reality prodco.

Tim Gamble, Thunderbird’s previous CEO and co-founder, is moving to vice-chair of the board and will continue focusing on business development in the area of intellectual property, which has seen the company pursue mystery drama in recent times.

Thunderbird Entertainment is also producing Ridley Scott’s forthcoming Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to his 1980s sci-fi hit Blade Runner.
