Three new territories Crack Up

Production companies in Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands are the latest to pick up the local rights to Ukrainian format Crack Them Up from distributor Eccho Rights.

Magnolia in Spain, Zodiak-owned Mastiff in Denmark and Stepping Stone in the Netherlands have all picked up the show from the Scandi sales house.

Originally from Studio Kvartal for 1+1 in Ukraine, the format features regular members of the public trying to make professional comedians laugh. If they succeed, there’s a cash prize on offer.

A total of 12 versions of Crack Them Up are now in production around the world, including a US pilot of the show being worked on by Electus.

The show was the first foreign format picked up by Chinese broadcaster Jiangxi in November 2013.
