Thai net adapts Junior Bake Off

Terrestrial channel Now 26 in Thailand will air the first international version of BBC Worldwide’s (BBCWW) Junior Bake Off format.

BBCWW has sold the format to Thai prodco Content LAB, which will produce a local version to air in the fourth quarter of this year. Now 26 is a new digital channel operated by Nation Multi Media Group.

The show is a spin off from Love Production’s global format The Great Bake Off, which originally aired on BBC2 in the UK as The Great British Bake Off. That format has been adapted locally in Germany, Italy and Norway, among many other territories.

Junior Bake Off gives children aged between seven and 12 the chance to compete for the Bake Off championship while inspiring their peers to start baking as well. It has aired for two seasons in the UK.

Gavin Wood, executive producer at Content LAB, will oversee the production of the series along with Duncan Cooper, BBCWW’s executive producer for formats and local production.

Content LAB is part of JSL Global Media Group, a global production content laboratory that produces high-end longform and shortform content.
