TF1 Int’l spreads Influence to Spain

MIPTV: French distributor TF1 International has sold its one-off event TV movie Woman Under Influence to Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia.

Produced by Endemol France subsidiary Leonis, Woman Under Influence (L’Emprise) broke audience record figures on TF1 in January with 10 million viewers and a 37% share, the highest French drama rating since 2007.

The show also drove big traffic on social networks, reaching almost four million people.

Adapted from Alexandra Lange’s book Aquitée and based on a true story, the film follows the trial of a mother of four who is accused of murdering her husband after the man abused her for 17 years.

The TV movie stars Odile Wuillemin, who also plays the main character in TF1’s hit series Profiling (Profilages).
