Terra Mater docs explore the world

Naturalist David Attenborough

International broadcasters have picked up a range of shows from Terra Mater Factual Studios, including one fronted by Sir David Attenborough.

Vienna-based doc producer and distributor Terra Mater said it had signed deals for the programming following last week’s Mipcom market in Cannes.

David Attenborough’s Light on Earth, which explores the phenomenon of bioluminescence, will air on Spanish public broadcaster RTVE as well as France 5, Taiwan’s PTS and Chinese network CCTV10.

The Chinese channel has joined Poland’s MetroTV in taking Wild Weather with Richard Hammond, which features the former Top Gear star experiencing extreme climate conditions.

Mexico’s Canal Once has acquired Brazil: A Natural History, while National Geographic Wild has come onboard natural history shows Wild Uganda, Wild Tanzania and Namibia: Sanctuary of Giants.
