Originally produced by All3Media-owned Lion Television for BBC3 in the UK, the format sees young singles given full Hollywood movie-style prosthetic masks to make them look like monsters, aliens and demonic creatures before they venture out on dates.

Tencent in China has commissioned a 30×60’ run while Paan Media is working on a 13×60’ season for KBS. In Europe, Viasat Broadcasting is preparing a version for TV3 in Lithuania after picking up the format from distributor All3Media International.

The new deals add to the recent adaptation by MME Entertainment in Germany. A second season has now been confirmed by Sixx, the show’s broadcaster, after the first doubled its slot average.

Sabrina Duguet, senior VP of iternational format sales at All3Media International, said: “Sexy Beasts has a simple premise which is very adaptable internationally. The classic blind date, with all the hope that encompasses, is given this amusing and fascinating visual and emotional twist.”
