Temple Street appoints digital director

Canada’s Temple Street Productions has appointed the digital director of Just For Laughs to work with YouTube at its newly-launched digital content studio in Toronto.

As director of partnerships at Boat Rocker Studios, Carlos Pacheco will be responsible for forging and fostering new partnerships with established and emerging YouTube talent and brands seeking to develop online content. The appointment is effective immediately.

Boat Rocker Studios was set up in June out of Temple Street Media Ventures and is housed in a newly-acquired 1950’s era, 20,000 sq ft building in the downtown Toronto.

Pacheco will report to recently-promoted Michel Pratte, VP of Temple Street Media Ventures.

Before joining Boat Rocker, Pacheco was digital director at Canadian comedy firm Just For Laughs, where he was responsible for building a new business strategy, managing and optimising 14 different YouTube channels as well as generating new content distribution deals with partners.

Prior to that, Pacheco worked as a media strategist at Cossette Communications as well as Touché! PHD.

In July, Temple Street opened an office in Los Angeles, where it’s now looking to establish new scripted and digital divisions.

Canadian broadcaster CTV recently picked up rights to the company’s sci-fi series Orphan Black. The 10×60’ drama was first shown on Canadian specialty cable channel Space.
