Telefe inks Indian alliance

Argentinian distributor Telefe International is planning to tackle the Indian market, after sealing a distribution deal with a local partner at Mipcom this week.

Telefe has closed the deal with prodco Miditech, which will distribute its products and formats in India. Telefe said the move was part of a strategy to expand in Asia via strategic alliances in key countries.

Miditech’s head of development Nivedith Alva said the agreement “allows us to bring to India the best of South American television, both scripted and non-scripted.”

The Delhi-, Mumbai- and Bangalore-based firm produces shows such as the Indian version of Survivor for Star Plus and dating show Super Stud for UTV Bindass.
