TCB to shop Essential food shows

easyJet: Inside the Cockpit follows the airline’s trainee pilots

London-based distributor TCB Media Rights has secured a number of titles from Australian indie Essential Media and Entertainment, including a pair of food shows.

TCB Media has gained distribution rights to about 55 hours of Essential’s factual entertainment programming, including food titles Gourmet Farmer, now in its fourth season on Australian pubcaster SBS, and #Shelfie with Dan Hong.

Gourmet Farmer (52×30’) follows the adventures of former food critic Matthew Evans, who swapped city life for small-farm living. In #Shelfie, chef Hong visits Australian households to cook feasts from whatever they have on their shelves.

The volume deal was brokered by Kate Llewellyn-Jones, TCB Media Rights’ MD, and Chris Hilton, CEO and executive producer at Essential.

TCB now has a slate of 36 new factual and factual entertainment shows totalling more than 250 hours’ of programming ahead of Mipcom in Cannes in October.

Its properties include UK-based ITN Productions’ documentary series easyJet: Inside the Cockpit (3×60’), which looks at the airline’s pilot-training scheme, and London prodco Spirit Level’s docudrama Wartime Crime (6×60’), which investigates the criminals whose misdeeds were triggered by the Second World War.
