TCB picks Passion acquisitions chief

UK-based distributor TCB Media Rights has appointed a Passion Distribution executive to lead its expanding acquisitions department.

Jimmy Humphrey

Jimmy Humphrey will take up the newly created role of head of acquisitions and coproductions at TCB with a remit to build the firm’s network of independent producing partners and strengthen its content offering.

He will work with Claire Runham, acquisitions and coproductions executive, and will report to TCB founder and CEO Paul Heaney.

Humphrey served as Passion’s first head of acquisitions after joining in July 2016 from Banijay International, where he had spent three years as VP of sales and acquisitions.

His arrival at Passion followed the appointment of former Banijay International MD Emmanuelle Namiech as Passion CEO, following Sally Miles’ decision to leave the distributor she founded.

Humphrey has also had stints working at Endemol Shine Group and FremantleMedia.

Meanwhile, TCB has announced two new series in production. UK indie Back2Back’s Cabin Fever, aka Airports Caught on Camera, (6×60’) is an air travel programme, while First Look TV’s A Killer’s Mistake (10×60’) studies the errors that have led to the arrest of murderers.
