TCB hires ex-BBCWW sales manager

UK distributor TCB Media Rights has appointed a former sales manager at BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) to oversee the territories of Italy, Spain, Latin America and Canada.

Simona Argenti will join TCB Media Rights in London on April 1 in time for MipTV, which kicks off on the same day.

Argenti began her career in commercial television four years ago as a sales assistant at BBCWW, later being promoted to an executive position, handling sales across cinema, TV, digital, DVD and merchandise.

TCB’s representation in Italy will change from Italian agent Daniela Bagliani of Full Board Media following the appointment.

“TCB has always favoured hiring emerging hot-shots to blend with our experienced team; their hunger, enthusiasm and ideas contribute real dynamism,” said Paul Heaney, CEO of TCB Media Rights.

The firm has 25 new titles on its slate for next week’s market in Cannes, including 60-minute doc Diana and the Paparazzi, Royal Murder Mysteries (6×60′), Secrets of Historic Britain (6×60′) and Highland Midwives (3×60′).

The series are produced by production companies TVT Productions, Like A Shot, Spun Gold/GME and Matchlight/GME respectively.
