CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement is continuing its off-net syndication career with a cable deal inked by distributor Sony Pictures Television.

Rerun rights to the show have been picked up by Turner Broadcasting System for a January 2, 2013 debut on TBS. The seventh season will begin airing on CBS on Mondays at 20.30 from February 4, 2013.

John Weiser, president of US distribution at Sony Pictures Television, spoke about Rules’ “ongoing appeal,” adding: “This show consistently outperforms its competition in adult demos and households.”

Rules, which recently shot its 100th episode, is currently airing in broadcast syndication in 96% of the US on stations in major markets including New York (Tribune), Los Angeles (KCAL9/CBS) and Chicago (WCIU-TV/Weigel).

The series is produced by Happy Madison Productions and CBS Television Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television.
