TBS calls in Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s cast includes Andy Samberg and Terry Crews

Turner-owned US network TBS has picked up rights to the first five seasons of police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

TBS will start airing the show, beginning with the pilot, on January 4 at 19.00, with the series also available via the network’s on-demand app.

The comedy hails from Emmy-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur (Parks & Recreation) and is produced by Universal Television. It first aired on Fox in the US in 2013, with Goor, Schur, David Miner and Luke Del Tredici exec producing.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a beloved comedy series driven by a talented ensemble cast, which will be an excellent complement to TBS’s slate of character-driven programs,” said Michael Quigley, exec VP of commercial operations, content strategy and monetisation for TBS and TNT.
