Taylor made for BBC entertainment job

BBC Vision Productions, the Beeb’s inhouse production arm, has appointed Katie Taylor as its head of entertainment and events, replacing Jon Beazley, who quit last month.

Taylor is the first woman to run the inhouse entertainment department at the BBC and will be responsible for some of the UK’s biggest shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear and Dragons’ Den. She is currently the executive editor for comedy entertainment.

Pat Younge, chief creative officer for Vision Productions, said of Taylor: “She is hugely talented and absolutely the right person to build on Jon Beazley’s legacy and take BBC Entertainment on to the next level of success.”

Taylor will take up her role later in the spring.
