Syndicado stocks up factual catalogue

The Turkish Way has been acquired from Feelsales

REALSCREEN: Toronto-based distributor Syndicado has picked up 100 hours of Spanish and French content for distribution to digital outlets in the US.

The content has come from Madrid-based distributor Feelsales, Bristol-based independent producer Filmcell International and French sales house Java Films, in deals announced at the ongoing Realscreen Summit in Washington DC.

The Feelsales package includes 10 documentary films. Among them are travelogue The Turkish Way, which follows three brothers who own the famous Girona-based restaurant El Celler de Can Roca as they explore the culinary potential of Turkey, plus Santa Fiesta, which documents animal cruelty in Spanish religious festivals.

From French agent Java Films, Syndicado has taken 18 docs for digital distribution around the world outside France.

Titles include Post Truth Times, an investigative feature boasting interviews with Noam Chomsky and journalists at The Guardian and The New York Times. Church: Code of Silence, meanwhile, unveils secret documents on how church officials have protected paedophile priests across the world, and Miami SWAT follows the city’s elite police unit.

Filmcell has sold 46 hours of content to Syndicado for distribution in the US and Canada, including four seasons of Carib-Asian Cookery hosted by married duo Patrick Hart and Sherrie Eugene-Hart.

Paranormal reality series Shadow Chasers (6×30’) and The Barber Lounge, in which professional barber Kieran Sarkozi interviews local heroes and celebrities as they share personal life stories from the barber’s chair, are also included.

All shows were originally produced for city-based TV network Made TV.
