Syfy US takes Troy’s magic

NBCUniversal-owned US cable network Syfy has acquired the rights to unscripted magic series Troy: Street Magic.

The 10-part series, coproduced by Zig Zag Productions and GroupM Entertainment for E4 in the UK, follows magician Troy Von Scheibner as he performs a mixture of studio close-up magic and street tricks in front of members of the public.

The series will premiere in the US on Tuesday, January 13.

It is the latest UK magic series to make its mark in the US. Dynamo: Magician Impossible recently concluded its four-season run on UKTV’s Watch channel and airs stateside on National Geographic Channel.

Last week, Syfy also acquired exclusive UK rights to Steven Spielberg mystery thriller Extant from CBS Studios International.
