Syfy twice Bitten

US cablenet Syfy has acquired the second season of Canadian supernatural thriller Bitten to air in 2015.

The series, from independent studio Entertainment One (eOne), will return to Syfy with 10 new episodes.

Bitten has already been renewed for a second season by Bell Media’s Space channel, which airs the show in Canada. Production will begin in Toronto this summer.

Bitten, produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment and eOne in association with Space and Bell Media, averaged 1.1 million total viewers during its first run on Syfy.

The series is based on the best-selling Women of the Otherworld novels by Kelley Armstrong and stars Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, Ted) as a modern-day werewolf.

The executive producers include JB Sugar for No Equal, Patrick Banister and John Barbisan for Hoodwink and Tecca Crosby, John Morayniss and Margaret O’Brien for eOne. Daegan Fryklind and Grant Rosenberg are exec producers and co-showrunners.

eOne is the worldwide distributor for the series and previously sold the first season to HBO Nordic.
