Syfy Kids reaches Africa

International children’s broadcaster KidsCo is launching its Syfy Kids block in its first African territory next month, following its debut in Central and Eastern Europe this week.

Syfy Kids will launch in South Africa in July and will see the premiere of Matchbox Pictures’ intergalactic toon ZuZu & the Supernuffs in the territory.

Other toons set to feature include Matt Hatter Chronicles, Evolution and the animated series Back to the Future.

The block, announced in February, is a collaboration between NBCUniversal, which owns both KidsCo and cablenet Syfy, and Corus Entertainment in Canada, which also has a stake in the kidscaster.
