Swisscom explores 4KUniverse

High-definition VoD channel 4KUniverse is rolling out beyond North America for the first time with a launch in Switzerland through telecoms company Swisscom.

The 24/7 4K Ultra HD general entertainment TV channel, run by US distributor Mance Media with SES Video, was introduced earlier this year on the SES Ultra HD platform in North America.

Swisscom will now add 4KUniverse to its own Ultra HD offering, which includes a growing channel line-up, VoD and live sports events.

The content offering includes NASA TV UHD, Fashion One 4K, C4K360, UHD1, 4KUNIVERSE, Funbox UHD, Nature Relaxation 4K, the SES demo channel and two HDR channels, Travelxp 4K and INSIGHT TV.

“The delivery of 4KUNIVERSE to Swisscom represents a natural extension of our North American solution and opens the door to additional growth beyond the US,” said Steve Corda, VP of business development for SES Video.
