SVT’s Doobidoo hits right note for Kanal D

A broadcaster in Turkey is preparing a local version of long-running Swedish entertainment format Doobidoo.

Doobidoo will air on Kanal D as Enjoy Yourself

Kanal D will air the 8×120′ series following a deal with UK-based distribution firm Magnify Media, which worked with Turkish agent Sera Film to secure the agreement.

Doobidoo, which will air in Turkey under the title Enjoy Yourself and is produced by local indie Formed Yapim, is now in its 12th season on SVT in Sweden and launched in 2005.

The music gameshow sees celebrities compete in a series of challenges inspired by five decades of popular music.

“Turkish audiences absolutely love singing shows and this format allows us to dig deep over the years and celebrate our musical history and culture, but in a completely fresh way,” said Armagan Caglayan, deputy general manager of Kanal D.

It marks Magnify Media’s first sale on behalf of SVT after it added a host of Nordic formats to its slate shortly after being set up by Andrea Jackson, DRG’s former MD of acquisitions and formats, last year.
