SVT takes Lyrics further

Swedish pubcaster SVT has ordered further seasons of long-running music gameshow format The Lyrics Board.

The format, known locally as Så Ska Det Låta, has been greenlit for a 21st and 22nd season and will continue to be produced by Zodiak Media’s Mastiff Sweden.

Created by Philip Kampff and Andy Ruane and based on the original Irish series on RTE, local versions of the show have been distributed to more than 30 territories by FremantleMedia.

“Any format that goes 21 seasons is very very special,” said Ruane. “SVT have been really fantastic as have Mastiff/Zodiak who produce the show in Sweden. And of course FremantleMedia. But this is really important for the format business globally. It proves that if you get it right, a format will run for 21 seasons.”
