Swedish public broadcaster SVT has added a Turkish drama to its autumn primetime schedule after striking a deal with distributor Eccho Rights.

Paramparça (Broken Pieces) was originally produced by Endemol Shine Turkey for Star TV and has now been licensed to SVT.

The Swedish pubcaster plans to air the drama daily over 20 weeks in the 19.30 slot on SVT2 this autumn.

It is the third time SVT has picked up a Turkish drama from Eccho following The End, produced by Ay Yapim, which had a successful 10-week run on SVT2 in 2013, and 20 Minutes from the same producer.

Eccho has long trumpeted the potential for Turkish drama in Western Europe and recently sold Kiraz Mevsimi (Cherry Season) to Mediaset in Italy.

Originally produced by Surec Film for Fox in Turkey, the dubbed Italian version is attracting shares of 18%, well above the average for the channel and timeslot.

It is the first Turkish drama to be broadcast on a major channel in the territory.
