Superprod goes to Waste with adaptation

Zero Waste Kids is based on Jérémie Pichon’s (Almost) Zero Waste Family

French production company Superprod is adapting a book about environmental protection into an animated series for children.

Zero Waste Kids will be based on (Almost) Zero Waste Family, which was written by Jérémie Pichon, illustrated by Bénédicte Moret and published by Thierry Souccar Editions.

The humorous book aims to help kids contribute to saving the planet by reducing the amount of waste they create.

Superprod said the adaptation would target digital platforms due to the book’s popularity online, with the title having more than 95,000 Facebook fans in France alone, according to the producer. It will also be available to traditional broadcasters.

The news comes after Superprod this week announced it was opening an office in LA headed by its chief financial officer, Louise de Staël.

The new location is Paris-based Superprod’s first US office and will allow the firm to form partnerships with local companies for TV series and feature films.
